I wish they were more realistic about their expectations and then I would be much happier to recommend the game.Īs it is currently I simply don't belive devs are competent enough to entrust them with £20 that I could spend on games with proven track record.Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game ?" At best in current form it's below average to what competition currently offer and has potential to end up somewhere in a middle of a market. I belive developers are passionate about this game but their passion is blinding them to the fact that ROI isn't ground breaking achivement that is going to change transport tycoon genre as we know it. Now we have early access being priced at full price of most indie games. So far developers have shown lack of understanding of the market in Their kickstarter wanted to get 150 000 euro to be able to create a game and were offering alpha access for 60 euro. There was over 130 000 viewers watching game on steam which translated to just over 2000 people buying a game majority of those being from itch io days. Same goes for games like Machinky with much better visuals. Factorio is cheaper and light years ahead in it's development for example and appeals greatly to train loving gamers. They are that much on different end of the spectrum. ROI and OpenTDD are both transport tycoon games but it's like saying that Long Dark and Minecraft are both survival crafting games. ![]() I think it's really comparing apples and oranges here. ![]()
